The Minaret

Do you know anything about Saudi symbol? Actually, the most widespread symbol in Arabic countries, especially in Saudi Arabia, is the minaret. For instance, Mozammel Hague wrote about the minaret in "Al- Haramin in Makkah Al-Mukarmah." Also, Jonathan Bloom wrote about the same topic in "Saudi Aramco World." I think many people in Saudi Arabia don't know anything why the minaret is really important to Muslim people because they just know that the minaret is important, but they don't know the reason for that Therefore, there are many reasons that make the minaret is an important symbol of faith and power, according to Jonathan M. Bloom in "Al-Haram in Makkah Al-Mukarramah."

The first reason is that the minaret is very important because we believe in that in our religion. For example, in the past, there was a man who scaled the minaret who se name was bilal and called the Muslim people to pray for their God. Actually, we always pray 5 times, so the man on the minaret who is called muezzin calls us to remind us to come to a prayer. Also, it is important in my country because if any Muslim comes to a strange hometown and wants to pray, he will see the minaret because it's the highest part in the mosque so that anyone can find it. I think this one of the reason that makes the minaret very, very important.

The second reason that is the priority one is the minaret has a peculiar meaning for Muslims. Actually, it indicates the grandeur of Islam and that God's utterance always is regarded as above everything. For instance, when our prophet Mohammad told us about Islam, no one believed him especially people in my hometown; nevertheless, he was born in the same hometown which is Makkah in 570 AD. This was written by Dr. Mozammel Hague. After a while, many people became Muslims and our prophet Mohammad went up to the minaret and called the people to pray, but many Muslims were wondering about that. They really asked Mohammad why he went up, but he bravely said that we must admire our God so that he went up. Also, he did that because our God told him to do that to teach the new Muslims that they have to respect their God, his speech, and the prophet Mohammad. As a result, we still now call to pray from the highest part of the mosque.




Last of all, the minaret in Saudi Arabia is important because of our economy and tourism. To illustrate, in my hometown, there is the first mosque which is called Al-Haram. I think the reason for this name is that when we go to Al-Haram, we wear individualized cloth which is called Al-Ihram, so they derive the name from the cloth. Also, I think the one who established the first holy mosque is the first prophet Adam, but some people think that the one who did that is our prophet Abraham and his son. Therefore, many people come to Makkah to see the holy mosque and the biggest, highest minarets on it, so the government gains a lot of money because of these tourists.

In conclusion, the minaret becomes very important symbol of faith and power for several reasons such as that the minaret is an important thing in our religion, it has a particular meaning for Muslims, and the minaret attracts many tourists so that our economy becomes very good. I think you should visit Saudi Arabia, especially my hometown, Makkah, to see these minarets and know more information about them.

Picture reflection

When I saw this picture, my first thought was of a woman losing hope in her life. It reflected multiple of things, such as disappointment, fear, and the lost of hope in her life. This woman who’s laid down next to the tree showed to us that she came to an end in her life, and she is probably waiting for a rescuer to come and save her life. It’s compared to the tree, and trees will die if the don’t get rescued by the rain. I personally, thought this lady lost hope and she is like a tree if she doesn’t get help she will die. In my opinion, the artiest reminds us that we have a life now, but every once in awhile something happens in our life that might destroy us. That’s why we need to surf people and help them and give them hope in this life; in addition, it will hopefully reflect positively in our lives.

Picture Analysis

This piece of art was completed by Polixeni Papapetrou. In this picture, we can analyze the different colors Mr. Papapetrou used such as the different of tree colors, blue, green, dark brown. Also, the color’s of the young children in that picture, which is white, black, and green. In this photo, we can see how the focus is on the young girl, who’s holding the little boy, and that tells us how tough and challenging time this girl is facing.
This image convey multiple of persuasive statements. It can tell us that the little children in that picture are lost and facing a difficult and challenging time. They are probably looking for their family or help, and just wait for hope to come to them. We can also see the little girl face and know that she is about to give up and stop walking. The message to the reader is to know the feeling of a lost person, and also to make sure that you keep your eyes on your love ones, and also to know that this life is challenging and my lead to death. Personally, I believe Mr. Papapetrou did a well-job by taking this picture and make the reader to wonder what his piece of art means.

Car Accident

Looking to this image makes you keep thinking about many things you don’t recognize it until you look at it carefully. First , a women standing by a fire in the forest and covering her head with an umbrella but surprise what?? It is not raining!! .Second, the fire is surrounded by some sticks that means some people brought the sticks to stand on it so the fire was burned by some people. Also, the women is giving a really strange looking and keep asking her self and thinking why they left the fire like this?? Don’t they care about the nature?? . a fire like that in a forest and in a grassy land might cause a conflagration in the forest.

Reflective Essay: Drifting Problem

Cars drifting have become so widespread in Saudi Arabia which every boy is talking about. In actual fact, cars drifting are a dangerous sport that causes death so easily; nevertheless, many teenager guys are being attracted to this very dangerous, disadvantageous kind of sport. I think the most guys who playing this sport are uneducated guys because they don't know that every family are menaced to be killed. Nowadays, the real, important reason of this hazardous sport is the spare time which most of the people have.
One day, when I was 16 years old, I was driving in a vast road with my friends. Even though the street was really enormous, it looked like a small street because there were a lot of guys whose ages are 14 to 23 were waiting the cars drifting to begin. I decided with my friends who like to watch this kind of sport to park my car and go watching them. While we were talking and waiting for the cars to show up, there was a black car that you can not see anything in it drove with a really high speed. Actually, the car which was BMW that considered as an expensive car with strange tires that looks like truck tires was drifting right and left in the middle of the street, and the unbelievable thing is that there were some young guys walking cross the street while the black car was driving toward them. Suddenly, the right, back tire of the BMW exploded and tore like pieces of glass. The car was tumbling in the air for 9 seconds in the air and finally toppled on the street on the conversing side.
After this phenomenon happened, the whole people who were watching this huge accident gathered around the car to help the driver, yet he had already died. I found that the driver who was the best person of this sport in our town was still younger. He was a tall, thin guy with black hair. In fact, the pink shirt which he was wearing was replete with his blood. The blood was everywhere that made me having a little bit headaches. Here I was asking myself some question about that died boy. How could his family or correctly his parents allow him to drive a car while he is a boy who was just 17 years old? Had they known that their child may be in danger or did they think that he will die while he is driving and drifting? The boy's head was everywhere and his legs were being cut. It was really a horrible landscape for me because if you saw this kid while he is outstretched on the street, you would have never known his face or identity, so how could for his parents to let him doing such a thing.
After a while his father came to the accident position and saw his child corpse on the street beside his car, but he didn't show any emotion about what happened to his child. The child's father was a big, old, serious man with wide sunglasses that seems he is an affluent man. Reality, when the father came, he was riding a car that was an expensive car the same as his child. He just said when he saw his child that he deserves to be died and then went ahead. Here I became more turbulent because the main reason of what happened to his child was him. He just gave him the can instead of admonish or teach his child about the advantages and disadvantages of using the car. He just let him drive and risk his life for nothing. After a couple of days, the government arrested the father because he was such a inadvertent, self-centered man that he couldn't even pick up his child to the hospital instead of leaving him like the trash on the street. I was really sorry to the child because he had has the wrong father who nobody can image his inconsiderableness character. Hence, I desire that everyone who was watching this regrettable accident to learn a lesson from this event, and every family had better leave his child with a car alone instead of teach him the right way to use the car.

After the industrial revolution, human civilization has been developing dramatically. However, while the civilization is being developed, the environment is being destroyed. The environment is very important for human beings. It provides us with a lot of beneficial things like crops and other things. Therefore, environmental destruction has to be solved quickly. In environmental destruction, deforestation is one of the most serious problems.
Forests function for the earth significantly, so deforestation leads to various, serious environmental problems like global warming, food crisis, and so on. Human beings have to solve deforestation quickly before it becomes widespread. Consequently, we have to clearly, explicitly, and comprehensively understand the causes of deforestation in order to not be unable to find any natural sights or nature itself. Therefore, deforestation is advancing in many developing countries these days due to various incentives. Nevertheless, there are some natural tribulations, which all of the governments should convene to solve this complicated problem.
The first cause of deforestation is lumbering. It is ordinary that a lot of paper is made from a number of trees every year. Actually, papers are very essential for the world. Actually, I noticed that the papers are consumed via a huge number of humans such as in dwellings, jobs, industrial units, and so on, so papers are really imperative in our life. It is not too much to say that the world can't function without paper even though they take vast, massive expanse of our life. In addition, trees are cut down as timber or pulp to build houses, make furniture, or use it as firewood. For instance, some of the industrial countries like Japan prefer using trees for houses or furniture, whereas some of the trees are replaced, like a crop. As a result, a number of trees are required these days by the urban countries. Also, some of the companies over the world cut a lot of trees to use them as papers in their job.
Pollution is a dangerous cause of deforestation as well. Water and soil, bringing grave problems to trees, are really indispensable for trees. Pollution sometimes kills a lot of trees, stays there for a long time, and makes land desolate. Also, in the northern atmosphere, acid rain, resulting from air pollution, threatens forests. In actual fact, strong acid rain can melt stone statues. For trees, acid rain is so injurious that it could exterminate the forests form the earth. This problem is so exacerbated in Europe. In fact, many people have never seen the pictures of withering forests in Eastern Europe.
The final cause of deforestation is agriculture, which is considered as one of the most significant reasons of deforestation. In the developing countries, slash-and-burn agriculture, which is a part of shifting cultivation, is being done. This method happens when a peasant burns the forests and uses the nutritious ash, which is made from the burning forests. The soil, containing the ash from the forests, is very fertile. However, this soil will have lost the nutrition after a few years. Then, as soon as the peasant can't harvest the crops sufficiently, he or she will burn another forest and repeat the procedure again. Due to this agricultural method, many enormous forests have become extinct. The Amazon rainforests as an example have almost disappeared because of the deforestation. Slash-and-burn agriculture is not the only activity that causes deforestation, but also over-grazing is advancing in many districts over the world. Over-grazing leads to desolation, and desolation causes desertification. Desert gradually extends, and it converts forests into deserts. The problem of desertification called "Yellow Sand" occurs and leads to serious problems. That fact supports my idea of the results of deforestation.
